Intricate, fine jewellery designed & made by Abi Cochran

Hello I'm Abi, I design and make jewellery at the edge of the fens near Cambridge, England.

I’m currently obsessed with weather-worn textures. I love the fine details found in burnt wood, split pieces of ply, microscopic lichens. . . they often resemble fantastic miniature landscapes - both challenging and fun to try and reproduce in jewellery form!

she taught me and many others in Cambridge for several decades until she was in her 90s, encouraging and inspiring until just a few weeks before she died.

Before she became a teacher, she had a successful career as a designer maker, enjoyed working as a puppeteer assistant with William Simmonds, and for several years travelled the world as an artist examiner.

I live close to Fulbourn Fen a nature reserve on the edge of Cambridge, England.

It’s an endless source of inspiration as well as a place to recharge, stretch my back at the end of long days at the workbench.
